Lux contacted me to create a 18” x 24” poster for an upcoming charity event - Fashion for a Cause. With this project, they’re teaming up with Myself: Together Again, a local breast cancer awareness foundation.
The final poster turned out beautifully, with the final pink colors more muted than they appear here.

For this project Lux wanted to revamp their logo along with their business cards. We chose to go with a simple, text-based logo.
For the business cards, I created 2 cards - one set for salon stylists, and another appointment card which also advertised the salon.

My sister Jessica was getting married, and asked me to help out with their wedding invites. I couldn’t resist!
We went with a 4x6 double sided, full gloss postcard seen above. In addition, I created programs using the same theme for the actual ceremony, seen below.

Gods of Harvest is a local indie, experimental, ethereal, pop band hailing from Raleigh, NC.
I was tasked to create an 11x17 poster to advertise Gods of Harvest shows. The style was to be very fantasy/abstract, utilizing lots of clouds, sky, nebula, imagery.
This project was a ton of fun to work on, and the end result is below!

After completing the website redesign, the last part of my job was to create a brochure with the purpose of giving visitors, as well as existing members, an overview of what Victory was about, what programs and ministries they had to offer, and what steps they needed to take to get involved.
For the design, I wanted to go with the theme of the new identity. I focused on using the three main colors found in the logo, and set all of the type in Soho Gothic. This helped keep the entire brochure consistent.
Ending up at 20 pages, I believe the brochure probably contained too much information, but that area was out of my hands. Overall, I believe the New Here Brochure will give anyone an in-depth look at what goes on at Victory Church.

With this project I revised Care One’s course brochure to better display information about courses. Information includes course date/time, tuition/book costs, exam fees, and more. They are handed out students interested in attending the school.
The brochure was then handed off to the client to be printed in-house at their location.

Before I completed the New Here Brochure, I was also asked to create a brochure to advertise Lifegroups (small groups) at Victory Church. The goal was to create something visually interesting that would catch people’s attention, make them aware of Lifegroups, and provide a way for them to get involved.
I implemented some imagery used in other Lifegroup promotional materials, and tried to keep with the existing branding of the church. The brochures were printed, folded, and cut in-house.

Delivering photos from a photo session is a must, but who likes a sharpie labeled disc? Insert Jewelboxing here.
With every photo session, I design a custom case and label to present photos to a client in a way they won’t forget.
This particular case is from the Styles by Tara Gardiner photoshoot.

Sending out a custom Christmas card is sort of a tradition now for my wife and I. I’ll set up the lighting and the camera on a tripod, and we’ll take a nice photo of ourselves, and then I’ll design a card that says Happy Christmas and something nice.
I’m thinking I need to step it up on the design end of things for 2010.

In addition to creating a website for Matchless Mobile Lube, I also created postcards and business cards to help the owners promote their business.
The postcards were passed out to prospective customers and/or left in businesses for people to pick up. The business cards had a $10 off coupon on the back to encourage potential customers to try out Matchless for the first time.

With a second designer on board, we had a big vision to re-brand the magazine formerly known as Victorious Living, as Prism. Our goal was to take content from a variety of sources, both in-house and external, and create a magazine full of diverse articles to encourage and inspire Christians. After roughly 3 months of brainstorming, the first redesign issue was released.
You’ll notice in the images below, an article titled “Lego Block Lessons.” This was quite possibly the most fun I’ve had designing a page for an article. We contacted a friend who had thousands of legos. From the pieces we built the title of the article, and had this idea to create a scene out of the blocks to go along with the imagination of the story. We pulled out the fog machine, the lighting, some grass from behind the church, and went to work. The final result is the labor of love you see below. Hopefully it will make you smile. :)

Each fall, Victory Fellowship Church puts on a fall festival full of candy, games, prizes, and more. These cards were created to promote the event, and were passed out by kids, families, and also placed in various businesses around the town. The event was a huge success!

Care One is a nursing school in Raleigh. They also have a division that provides nursing services. They contacted me to design some promotional materials to advertise both the school and the nursing services. We decided to create a 4x6 postcard that would be handed out to those requesting information. In addition, we created some business cards, which are essentially smaller versions of the postcard, that only advertise the school.

Whenever I need to give a disc to a client, whether images or video, I always like taking an extra step with the packaging. I mean, seriously, how many times has someone given you a blank disc with the title written in sharpie? So, combining jewelboxing with my design experience, I create super nice packing that the client is sure to never forget.
This particular packing was for a highlights DVD of their wedding.

For my initial business cards, i went through several ideas, then decided to use one of my posters for the main image. At first i had the thought to create cards using each of my posters, but have held off as i didn’t want to create confusion by having 6 different business cards. Overall, i’m very satisfied, and love the glossy finish.
