Jon's Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps 불고기

If you're going to make any asian food—you have to make this! Bulgogi, also known as korean bbq, is an amazingly tasty type of korean food consisting of marinated beef, typically grilled on a gridiron, or on an electric skillet. Make this delicious meal today and I promise your taste buds will thank me.

Jon's Bulgogi Lettuce Wraps 불고기

Instructions

Cut the beef into 1–2 inch strips.

Chop 3 green onion pieces into small slices.

Put the beef and onions into a bowl or container while you prepare the marinade.

Marinade

Combine the 6 Tbsp Soy Sauce 2 Tbsp Sugar, 3 Tbsp Cooking wine, 1 1/2 Tbsp Garlic powder, 2 sprinkles of ginger powder, 2 tbsp sake, 1 Tbsp sesame oil, 1 Tbsp sesame seeds, 4 tbsp honey, 1/2 tsp of ground black pepper, and 1 tsp crushed red pepper in the bowl of beef.

Mix everything together really well, cover and put in the fridge for at least 6 hours. (A whole day, or up to 2 days tastes the best!)

After marinating, cook the beef in an electric or iron skillet on 350°. You'll want to make sure the all of the beef touches the base of the pan and isn't piled too high. It usually takes 2 batches to cook all of the beef.

Stir frequently to make sure the beef doesn't burn as the honey caramelizes.

Once the beef has a sheen too it, it should be just about finished. Test a piece to make sure, and try to resist eating it all.

Enjoy!

Serve with your favorite rice and eat as a lettuce (or seaweed) wrap along with some asian cucumbers—or my favorite: spicy kimchi—to make a complete meal!

Serves 4–5 depending on how hungry everyone is :)
